Chad Brennan’s Bio
After graduating from the Ohio State University in 1996 with a degree in Civil Engineering Chad felt called to build spiritual bridges instead of steel ones and went into full-time ministry. For nine years he and Laurie (his wife) worked with college students in the Middle East (1996-1997), New York City (1998-2003), and Columbus (2003-2005) as staff members with Campus Crusade for Christ. As they worked and partnered in these diverse communities they learned firsthand about the joys and challenges of sharing life and ministry with Christians of other ethnicities. They wrestled with how “to get it right” and observed many other Christians leaders doing the same. While in NYC in 2001 they began to work with other leaders in the community to facilitate “ReNew activities” designed to bring Christians together of different ethnicities. In 2005 they felt led to leave staff with CCC and launch ReNew Partnerships as an independent Christian non-profit organization. Chad, Laurie, and the other ReNew staff which have since joined them are currently helping thousands of Christian leaders to build biblical, multi-ethnic community through innovative on-site training programs and resources like TheNewCulture.org which attracts several million hits each year. Chad is also completing his work on a Master of Arts in Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Chad and Laurie’s most passionate ministry is with their three daughters Aliya, Anya, and Milena.

Please see our history page for more information about the history of ReNew Partnerships and visit the about us page for more about what we do.

Chad’s role with ReNew
Chad’s role as the  director of ReNew requires him to a wear a wide variety of hats: leader, visionary, training facilitator, administrator, graphic/media/web designer, writer, and accountant. He’s praying for more help! :) He especially enjoys facilitating discussion-oriented workshops where leaders can be encouraged and equipped with biblical principles and skills for sharing their lives and ministry with Christians of other ethnicities.

Laurie’s role with ReNew
Laurie devotes the majority of her time and energy to being a full-time mom but she still enjoys helping with ReNew in a variety of ways including providing leadership and direction to our efforts, mentoring women, hosting events, and coordinating public relations.

Things you might not know about Chad
Chad used to be a high-flying pole vaulter in high school and college — his personal best was fifteen feet. Chad’s high flyin’ days are over but he still tries to catch a little air (very little) on the basketball court each week at the rec center. Chad also loves to play disc golf and inline skate. He hopes to grow up someday.

Things you might not know about Laurie
Laurie has never met a workout video that she doesn’t like — she has aquired a vintage collection that extends back to VCR tapes and leg warmers. She plans to put all that training to use as an aerobic instructor soon. Speaking of leg warmers, Laurie loves all things 80′s — music, videos, clothes, hair (ok, maybe not hair). You may be able to spot Laurie in a SafeAuto TV commercial or steam mop infomercial — in 2009 she started doing some modeling on the side of her full-time mom job and some fun opportunities quickly opened up. Oscars next?
