Chad & Laurie Brennan's Ministry Update May 2010

We sent the following update out by mail last week. Here it is by e-mail in case you didn't receive it... (please send us your mailing address if you would like to receive future mailings)

Dear Friends,

We are excited to give you a quick family update to let you know how the girls are doing.

Our oldest, Aliya, is our “super second grader.”   Her favorite class is music.  She still loves singing and dancing and makes up some pretty catchy tunes (I often get them stuck in my head).   She likes to sing and dance in front of the mirror, which REALLY drags out teeth brushing time.  So around bedtime in our house you may hear, “Aliya brush your teeth, brush your teeth Aliya, ALIYA QUIT SINGING AND BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!.”   She is a great big sister and LOVES holding her baby sister.

Anya is in kindergarten.  She’s a very girly girl…everything needs to be pink and there is no such thing as too much glitter, beads, or, sparkles and she talks about getting her ears pierced almost daily.  She loves her ballet class and making up gymnastics routines in our house --which stresses out her mother.    We call Anya our “squirrel” because she likes to make nests of “stuff": toys, books, blankets, you name it.  She likes to make her little nests all over the house (which also stresses out her mother!).   It has been fun to see Anya become a big sister for the first time.  She seems to love it and is a great helper.

Milena is such a cutie and already 8 months old.  All you have to do is look at her and she smiles.  She has just started crawling and she is pulling herself up.   She’s kind of has us baffled on the sleep thing lately, so we hope she gets a bit better at the nightime sleep soon!  She loves her big sisters and they can really make her laugh…it is very cute to see. We just signed her up with a local talent agency (that I occasionally work for).   So, we have her first modeling contract ready for the baby book!

Lastly,  thank you to all of you who have been praying for and giving toward the financial support needs of our work with ReNew.  We shared at the end of last year that our support account had dipped in and out of the red in 2009 and Chad was considering taking a part-time job to make sure we could pay our bills.  Fortunately, through special one-time donations we have been able to stay in the green so far in 2010 and Chad has been able to remain full-time.  But, the recession is having a major impact on contributions toward our ministry and we continue to be one "low month" of giving away from needing to pursue other options.  So, if you are able to make a one-time donation at this time it would be a big help as we continue to pray for and pursue additional long term, on-going support.

Thank you so much for the prayers, encouragement, and support you give our family!
